Blood Chemistry & Nutrigenomics Interpretation Masterclass

Early Bird
Blood Chemistry & Nutrigenomics Interpretation Masterclass
  Zoom

*MASTERCLASS RECORDING AVAILABLE SOON*

imed at nutritionists, naturopaths, and health professionals we will address common issues relevant to blood testing, discuss the standard and functional ranges and interpretation of these within a clinical setting  using a case study approach to facilitate the application of theory into practice.

We will explain how genetic variants can impact nutrient need and status, and the interpretation of functional test results and show how to create a storyboard of SNPs around a blood chemistry panel.

Tuesday 21 April 2020 • 9.30am-1.30pm • Live-streamed event

Our Price:  £79.00
List Price:  £145.00

A comprehensive blood chemistry can reveal key information about your client’s health, it is the gold standard “language” used amongst healthcare and medical professionals and the single most efficient and effective tool for evaluating health. It screens for a wide range of conditions and metabolic processes including several types of anemia, indications of gut, viral and bacterial infections, insulin resistance and hypoglycemia, liver and kidney issues, mitochondrial efficiency and thyroid function.

Do you know how to gleen this information? Or are you ordering multiple and often expensive functional individual testing profiles instead?

Learning how to confidently read and  interpret blood chemistry results, identify patterns of sub-optimal function as well as frank dis-ease allows you as a practitioner  to move forward with your clients case and tailor a support plan with far more confidence. Marrying this “gold standard” testing with a nutrigenomics panel  to have a clear understanding of your clients genetic predisposition is a truly formidable combination to help you achieve the best outcomes for your clients and clinical practice.

Aimed at nutritionists, naturopaths, and health professionals we will address common issues relevant to blood testing, discuss the standard and functional ranges and interpretation of these within a clinical setting  using a case study approach to facilitate the application of theory into practice.

We will explain how genetic variants can impact nutrient need and status, and the interpretation of functional test results and show how to create a storyboard of SNPs around a blood chemistry panel.

What's included:

4 hours of lectures
Downloadable presentations and recordings
Live Q&A sessions

Key learning objectives:

  • Walk delegates through the most important standard lab testing, and how to glean detailed information form a Comprehensive Metabolic Blood Chemistry & Complete Blood Count

  • Explain and evaluate a patterns analysis vs single tests

  • Specialist focus on red blood cells, blood glucose, mitochondrial markers, thyroid and the immune system with lymphocyte subsets

  • Exploring the genes, nutrients and environmental factors that impact methylation, detoxification, inflammation and thyroid function

  • Learn about how genetic variances interact with environmental factors to enable more accurate, personalised interpretation of blood chemistry results

  • Case Studies & multiple of Sample Blood  and nutrigenomic tests to learn from

Blood chemistry

Tanya will present on how to evaluate a complete blood count and  comprehensive metabolic blood chemistry with a special focus on blood glucose; red blood cells, immune and  thyroid. Teaching how to identify patterns of sub-optimal function rather than just looking at isolated markers.

She will dive DEEP into:

  • Immune function: Explaining the CBC & differential, microbial defense, individual markers & patterns

  • Liver: evaluate transaminase & liver markers & patterns

  • RBC indices: Individual markers & patterns

  • Nutrient Markers: B-12, Folate, B-6, Zinc, Iron, Protein, Vitamin D and how patterns correlate to CBC and liver markers

  • Thyroid: HPT axis physiology, individual markers, patterns & protocols

  • Additional Markers & Discussions: Inflammation, CRP, homocysteine and mitochondrial impact

Nutrigenomics

Emma  gets up close and personal with genes and epigenetics . Specifically and clearly, this second  part of the day beautifully overlays the information that has been learnt from being able to evaluate a comprehensive blood chemistry.

Emma will dive DEEP into the genes and variants and their essential role in enabling a personalised interpretation of blood chemistry test results including

  • Core nutrients - vitamin D, folate, B12, antioxidants

  • Methylation - folate & B12 utilisation, zinc, homocysteine and SAMe

  • Detoxification - including glutathione conjugation and glucuronidation

  • Immune response - histamine, bacterial & viral infection, inflammation

  • Thyroid - HPT axis, thyroid hormone and metabolic function

Tanya Borowski, Cip CNM, mNP, IFMCP Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner

Tanya initially completed her nutritional training at The College of Naturopathic Medicine in London, but wanted to work more directly with clients, helping them to prevent and reverse chronic disease and truly transform their health. Combined with her passion for nutrition she decided to pursue a career in functional medicine. Now, as a fully certified IFM practitioner, she brings her passion and dedication to each client, empowering them to obtain their optimal health potential.

Tanya has a specialist focus on Functional Digestive & associated conditions, Hashimotos & Thyroid solutions, and poor energy delivery conditions such as Chronic Fatigue.

She has completed additional advanced training with the Izabella Wentz’s Hashimoto's Institute, Dr Datis Kharrazian’s: Mastering The Thyroid for Clinicians in the USA as well as The Kharrazian Institute in California: NeuroInflammation Clinical Strategies, Autoimmunity Clinical Strategies and Treatment Applications,  Gastrointestinal Clinical Strategies and Treatment Applications.

Tanya regularly lectures for several organizations such as ION & CNM and is in private practice in Lewes, Sussex.

Emma Beswick, MBA, BA (Hons), NT(Dip)

Emma is a nutritional therapist and CEO of Lifecode Gx, the leading nutrigenomics testing, analysis and training provider. She is passionate about the power of nutrigenomics to enable personalisation of nutrition and lifestyle to empower individuals to optimise their health. Emma’s focus is on identifying and understanding common genetic variants that can be adjusted, compensated or exploited through diet and lifestyle. Although we can’t change our genetic code, we can change their (our) environment, to benefit our physical, mental and spiritual health.

Emma is a member of the International Society of Nutrigenetics/ Nutrigenomics (ISSN), Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM) and a regular speaker, presenter and participant at conferences on nutrition, genomics, genetics and epigenetics including at the Wellcome Genome Campus, Cambridge UK. She is also the author and co-presenter of Lifecode Gx’ popular Nutrigenomics In Practice training programme.
